EnergyUnited Electric Rural Youth Tour Applications

Attentions Juniors!!!(Rising Seniors)

Each year we send two high school juniors (rising seniors in summer) to Washington, D.C. as part of the Rural Electric Youth Tour. All expenses are paid by EnergyUnited. Applications for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity are due next Monday, Feb. 10. The application process is relatively easy and there are several college scholarships available to be awarded to the Youth Tourists after the trip.

Here is some additional information about the opportunity:

·        The Rural Electric Youth Tour to Washington D.C., takes place June 14-20, 2014. High school juniors who reside within EnergyUnited’s service area are eligible to apply.
·        Students travel to Washington, D.C. and meet with United States Representatives and Senators to see our nation’s government in action. This all-expenses-paid trip also gives young men and women the opportunity to watch history come alive as they explore Washington D.C. museums, memorials and monuments.
To be considered, students must complete an application and submit it to EnergyUnited, along with a letter of 250-500 words or less written to an elected official. The letter may be addressed to a local, state or national representative and should be on a topic important to the student. Applications are available on the EnergyUnited web site at https://www.energyunited.com/youth_tour.asp
